Overview

Prior to the 2026 anniversary format, the Ansbach Rococo Festival was celebrated in its classic format with courtly scenes, dances, and baroque market activity against the backdrop of the Margravial Residence. 2025 was dedicated to preparations for the 75th anniversary.

The Ansbach Rococo Festival has been cherished since 1951, bringing to life the courtly life of the Margravial era of the 18th century against the baroque backdrop of Ansbach. In the run-up to the 75th anniversary in 2026, Tourismus Ansbach prepared the new Market Whispers format.

The festival, with its authentic Rococo costumes, courtly dances, and fencing demonstrations, is one of Franconia's most renowned historical festivals and was recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Bavaria in April 2026. The classic grand festival returns in 2027.
