The Ansbach Open takes place every two years. 2025 was a rest year between the 2024 premiere and the second edition in 2026. Kammerspiele Ansbach used the year for the conception and marketing of the 2026 lineup featuring The BossHoss, KAMRAD, and Tobi Krell.

As the Ansbach Open takes place every two years, there was no regular edition in 2025. The festival was first held in 2024, followed by the second edition in 2026. Kammerspiele Ansbach, the organizer of the series, used 2025 for the programmatic preparation of the next edition at the new location on the university campus.
