The 2025 Altenberger Christmas Market opened on the second Advent weekend with classic opening hours: Fri 4 PM–9 PM, Sat 11 AM–9 PM, Sun 10 AM–7 PM. St. Nicholas visited the market on Saturday and Sunday, and the established shuttle bus system connected the outer parking lots to the market square for €2 per ride.
Last year, the market gathered the typical Bergisches stalls around Altenberg Cathedral: nativity art, wood carvings, mulled wine, and Reibekuchen. Concerts and readings in the Cathedral rounded off the Advent offerings.
