The Allerpark as a Landscape for Movement
With over 130 hectares, the Allerpark in northern Wolfsburg is one of the largest contiguous recreational and leisure facilities in northern Germany. The Allersee lake, sunbathing lawns, playgrounds, stadium, ice arena, and skate park make it a central meeting point for the city's population all year round. The Family and Sports Day utilizes this infrastructure to make Wolfsburg's club life visible.
Clubs and Hands-on Activities
A course of information stands, demonstrations, and hands-on stations will be set up on the north shore area. The participating Wolfsburg sports clubs cover a wide range: football, handball, volleyball, table tennis, swimming and water sports, canoeing, triathlon, athletics, gymnastics, dance, martial arts, chess, archery, and trendy sports such as stand-up paddling or calisthenics. Families can try out individual stations and talk directly with coaches and instructors.
Family Program
In addition to the club offerings, there will be bouncy castles, face painting for children, and small stage performances. Wolfsburg's mascot program will also be present. Food trucks and drink stands will cater to guests; admission is free.
Movement as a City Theme
Wolfsburg has consistently focused on sports and exercise offerings for years – VfL Wolfsburg, the Grizzlys (ice hockey), numerous clubs, and the Allerpark's landscape for movement are key players. The Family and Sports Day brings these players together for a single, low-threshold event.
