Overview

In 2025, the Aldnkuuschde Kerwa was also celebrated on the first weekend after Kiliani. Altenkunstadt's market square was filled with market stalls, brass music, and children's carousels; local inns took care of the catering. As in previous years, Upper Franconian inn life accompanied the Kerwa — from the Sunday morning pint to the Kerwamontag.

The 2025 Kerwa maintained the format that the market municipality has cherished for centuries. It commemorates the consecration of the Catholic parish church on July 9th, 1537 — the festive Sunday is dedicated to the celebratory church service, and the market square is alive with market stalls, brass music, and Franconian inn culture.

Altenkunstadt in the Obermain Valley — between Lichtenfels and Burgkunstadt — uses this Kerwa as a collective summer festival. The smaller Kirchweihen in the districts of Maineck, Pfaffendorf, Spiesberg, and Woffendorf complement the calendar year — however, the Aldnkuuschde Kerwa remains the largest festival in the municipality.
