Overview

The 25th Albersdorf Stone Age Mile took place on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Stone Age Park Dithmarschen. Over 25 hands-on stations with experimental archaeologists and craftspeople brought Neolithic techniques to life – flint, bows, pottery, shamans, combat demonstrations.

Review of the 25th Stone Age Mile 2025 – Anniversary Edition

The 25th edition of the Albersdorf Stone Age Mile in July 2025 was a special one: a quarter-century of experimental archaeology in Albersdorf. From 11 AM to 5 PM, the Stone Age Park Dithmarschen offered a dense program of hands-on and demonstration stations.

As in previous years, the summer festival attracted thousands of visitors from Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, and Lower Saxony to Albersdorf. Families with children particularly benefited from the hands-on nature: working with flint, shooting bows, baking stick bread, shamanic experiences – the program combined knowledge transfer with hands-on experience. With this anniversary edition, the Stone Age Park solidified its status as one of the most important open-air archaeological museums in Northern Germany.
