Overview

The 2025 Beach Party was part of Freak de l'Afrique's Berlin Carnival Weekender during the Pentecost weekend. On the sandy beach of Beach Neukölln, DJ sets with Afrobeats, Soca, and Dancehall played from the early afternoon — following the same curatorial line that has established the festival since 2023 as a sunny prelude to a four-day Carnival marathon. Cocktail bars, street food, and beach lounges made the day the adult open-air counterpart to the subsequent club nights at Metropol, by the MAAYA pool, and on the Cirque de l'Afrique floor.

The 2025 edition established the format as a fixture of Berlin's early summer: a bright daytime beach festival that, parallel to the Carnival of Cultures, kicked off a four-day program. The Beach Party logic — sun, sand, cocktails, Caribbean DJs — offered a deliberate alternative to the subsequent club nights and helped Freak de l'Afrique appeal to a broader audience beyond the pure club crowd. Organizer Freak de l'Afrique used the edition to solidify its Carnival brand and linked the event with its own truck participation in the Sunday Carnival of Cultures parade — Berlin shows its most musically diverse side on Pentecost weekend.
