Overview

The 23rd edition of the Afrikafestival Hamburg ALAFIA took place in late August 2025 on Große Bergstraße in Altona. Three days of music, market, and encounters with acts from Africa and the Black diaspora — Afro-Beats, African Roots, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Electronic. Around 20,000 visitors.

As every year in late summer, Große Bergstraße in Altona transformed into Hamburg's largest African meeting point at the end of August 2025. Three days of live music on the main stage, an African market with arts and crafts, textiles, and books, plus culinary specialties from West, East, and North Africa.

Genres: Afro-Beats, African Roots, Pop, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Blues, EDM, Reggae, Ragga, Dancehall. Organizers as always Zwischenräume e.V. (Akpovo / Heiland), supported by the City of Hamburg and the Altona district. Around 20,000 visitors came by — free admission.
