Adventsnachmittag Eppstein

The Adventsnachmittag Eppstein is a typical club event in Frankenthal's smallest district. Eppstein is located in the southeast of the city and is one of the rural suburbs of the Palatinate medium-sized town. With the Adventsnachmittag, the local TSV (Turn- und Sportverein - Gymnastics and Sports Club) together with the church community, the singing club, and the volunteer fire department maintains an important tradition of meeting.

Format and Atmosphere

The format is deliberately kept small: a few wooden huts and pavilions are set up on the TSV grounds, staffed exclusively by club members. The focus is on the social aspect – many Eppstein residents use the occasion to meet neighbors and fellow club members again before Christmas.

Offerings

Classically, mulled wine, children's punch, bratwurst from the local butcher, waffles, cookies, and occasionally Flammkuchen are expected. The offerings are moderately priced, with proceeds going to the TSV's youth work.

Program

The Adventsnachmittag begins at 2:00 PM and runs into the evening. Typically, a small stage performance by the kindergarten or a children's gymnastics group from the TSV, a visit from St. Nicholas for the children with small gifts, and possibly a joint Advent carol sing are planned.
