Parade of 40 race cars through Adenau to kick off the 24h festival week
For years, the Adenauer Racing Day has been a firm fixture in the 24h festival week program at the Nürburgring. Instead of the pre-race activities being confined solely to the Ring, the drivers bring their race cars to Adenau for an afternoon. This concept connects the town with the adjacent racetrack and turns the 24h weekend into a shared experience for the residents of the Hocheifel region.
Approximately 40 race cars form up at the Nürburgring for a parade, then drive through Adenau's town center to the market square. The procession is scheduled to arrive around 3:30 PM, creating an unusual atmosphere in the otherwise tranquil Eifel town. At the market square, drivers present themselves on a show stage, give interviews, and sign autographs.
The 2026 edition demonstrated the format's resilience: Thousands of fans came to Adenau despite the cold and rain to see the race cars up close. This audience loyalty makes the Adenauer Racing Day more than just a marketing event – it's an independent highlight of the festival week.
A free shuttle runs every 30 minutes between the Nürburgring and Adenau from 4 PM to 7 PM. This makes the event easily accessible even without your own car; many fans use the day to return to the festival and camping areas at the Ring afterwards.
The Adenauer Racing Day is the unofficial kick-off to the 24h festival week at the Nürburgring. It is organized by ADAC Nordrhein in cooperation with the town of Adenau.
