In mid-September 2025, the Active City Festival took place in Wilhelmsburger Inselpark. The sports festival, with its three experience zones – Contest, Entertainment, ParkSportInsel – attracted thousands of visitors from all over Hamburg. Skate, scooter, and BMX contests, 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, and a diverse range of hands-on activities showcased Hamburg's sporting breadth.

Active City Hamburg drew a positive conclusion and, for 2026, set Sunday as the festival day for the first time – with a simultaneous focus on inclusive unified sports formats.
