The Abendmarkt Neustadt Innenstadt is a summer market series from the Palatinate region that enlivens the city life on long summer evenings. While the regular weekly market runs in the mornings, the Abendmarkt creates a complementary counterpart in the late afternoon and evening — a conscious programming for working citizens and tourists who have time for a relaxed market stroll after 5 PM.
The 2026 series includes three dates spread across the summer months:

- Thursday, July 2, 2026
- Thursday, September 3, 2026
The opening hours are from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM each day — four and a half hours of market operation in the late afternoon and evening in the pedestrian zone. This shift in timing compared to the daytime weekly market creates a completely different atmosphere: more cosy, with the opportunity to linger, to enjoy a glass of wine after work, to take a walk through the evening city centre.
At the market stalls, Palatinate traders and vintners present their products:
- Regional Specialities — Palatinate sausages, cheeses, bread, honey, chestnuts, seasonal fruits and vegetables.
- Palatinate Wine — Vintners from the surrounding wine villages serve Riesling, Burgundy, rosé wines, and sparkling wine.
- Crafts and Artisanal Goods — Palatinate artisans with jewellery, ceramics, textiles, woodwork.
- Culinary Stalls — Small stalls with warm Palatinate dishes, Flammkuchen, bread with toppings, snacks.
The Abendmarkt is a Palatinate Stroll Experience: strolling along the pedestrian zone with a glass of Palatinate wine in hand, pausing briefly at a stall, having a chat with the producers — a relaxed form of summer city centre revitalisation that has proven successful in Neustadt for years.

Late summer Abendmarkt with an early autumn atmosphere. First Palatinate Federweißer (young wine) specialities and plum season products.
