In June 2025, the inaugural edition of 48 Hours Spandau took place in its current form — the Evangelical Church District of Spandau launched its new festival format as a 48-hour marathon of concerts, readings, workshops, and creative projects. The main venue, like in 2026, was Jüdenstraße 37 in Spandau's old town.
The inaugural 2025 edition tested the format and collaborations with local associations, cinemas, and cultural centers. Programmatic focuses included music (from classical and jazz to contemporary composition), literature (readings and writing workshops), and creative workshops for children and adults. The positive reception of the first edition led to the continuation of the format in 2026 — the repeat event on the third weekend of June was already announced at the end of the 2025 edition.
