In 2025, the Helgoland island festival summer continued without the big 200-year anniversary, but already featured the traditional maritime island festivals — lobster regatta, Börteboot parades, and summer concerts. The island community used the year to prepare for the grand anniversary celebration in 2026.
2025 Review
In the summer of 2025, Helgoland followed its usual festival concept: lobster regatta, summer events with the Helgoland Börteboot clubs, concerts in the Nordseehalle. The year was already marked by the upcoming 200th anniversary in 2026 — the island community of Helgoland used 2025 to prepare the programme, logistics, and collaborations with the three shipping companies. The result is the grand anniversary celebration on June 6, 2026.
