Overview

In the run-up to the founding festival, the Gleißenberg Volunteer Fire Brigade's 2025 activities were focused on the 150th anniversary. The highlight was the awards evening "Loyalty and Diligence Rewarded" in November, where 17 members were honored and Markus Riederer was appointed honorary commander. In parallel, the brigade successfully completed a performance test together with the Grabitz Volunteer Fire Brigade.

2025 was a preparatory year for the Gleißenberg Volunteer Fire Brigade: organizational steps for the 150th-anniversary founding festival were taken, while ongoing association work continued. Press releases from the brigade document, among other things, a successful performance test in November, a well-attended "Kesselfleisch" (pork stew) evening in February 2026, and the revival of the dance evening after several years' break.

The awards evening "Loyalty and Diligence Rewarded" on November 15, 2025, honored 17 members for their long-standing loyalty. Markus Riederer was appointed honorary commander – a symbolically important gesture in the run-up to the 2026 anniversary year.
