In 2025, the Exdorf Festival Committee began preparations and the first opening events for the 1075th anniversary celebration. Local clubs, the church community, and the Grabfeld municipality geared up for the big anniversary in 2026 with celebratory lectures, concerts, and small village festivities.
The 2025 opening phase primarily served to mobilize the population and prepare organizationally for the major anniversary year of 2026. The village's history – documented since 951 – was the focus of the initial lectures and exhibitions.
