Overview

In 2025, the Mariannenplatzfest was also held on May 1st at the fire brigade fountain in Kreuzberg. The stage programme featured concerts across the Berlin left-wing music scene, interspersed with speeches, trade union and anti-racist stands, and family activities. Organiser: Die Linke Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.

The 2025 edition continued the tradition of the Mariannenplatzfest – in close coordination with the MyFest on Oranienstraße and other May 1st events in Kreuzberg. The political profile remained sharp, the stage offerings diverse, and the atmosphere family-friendly during the day and politically charged in the evening.

The festival is a firm fixture in Berlin's May 1st programme and demonstrates that in the state of Berlin, Labour Day is not just a day for demonstrations but also for community festivals. In the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg borough, this dual identity is particularly pronounced.
