Overview

In 2025, the Zwiebeltreterfest once again took place on the Böhmerwiese in Bamberg's Gärtnerstadt. As every year, six bands played over four days, with Franconian Gärtnerstadt atmosphere, free admission, and cozy Bamberg beer in the shade of the trees.

The 2025 Zwiebeltreterfest once again attracted a mixed audience of families, students, and tourists to the Böhmerwiese. With six bands over four days, Franconian cuisine, and Bamberg beer, the festival remained true to its relaxed format. The organizers continue to promote it with the slogan of "Bamberg's most relaxed festival" – a concept that has been successful since 2009.

As always, the focus was on the Gärtnerstadt tradition: the "onion treading" as an allusion to Bamberg's centuries-old vegetable cultivation between Heiliggrabstraße and Klein Venedig, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
