Overview

The previous edition of the Zebra Poetry Film Festival confirmed the reputation of Haus für Poesie as the most important international platform for poetry film. As in previous years, the festival in the Kuppelhalle of silent green presented a curated selection of around 50 short films from around the world, complemented by an international competition, thematic programs, and the youth format Zebrino. This set the stage for the 2026 edition from June 4 to 7.

The penultimate edition of the Zebra Poetry Film Festival took place in Autumn 2025 in the Kuppelhalle of the silent green Kulturquartier in Wedding. The festival showcased a curated selection of poetry-based short films from around 80 countries, divided into an international competition, several thematic programs, and the youth program Zebrino. Film discussions with attending directors, filmmakers, and translators accompanied the screenings — the tension between poetry and moving images once again formed the thematic core.

The organizer remained the Haus für Poesie, Berlin's central institution for poetry. With the 2025 edition, the festival strengthened its international network and laid the groundwork for the next edition from June 4 to 7, 2026, which will focus on Argentina (VideoBardo) as its first South American guest country.
