In June 2025, the Young Theatre Festival Wuppertal showcased productions from several schools in Wuppertal and Velbert at the Haus der Jugend Barmen. The format, with low admission prices (€2 and €3 respectively) and a professional stage, confirmed itself as an important hub for the regional school theatre scene.
In June 2025, the Young Theatre Festival Wuppertal presented eight productions from five schools – five Wuppertal grammar schools and schools from Velbert. The performances ranged from classical acting to musical theatre, dance theatre, and performance formats.
The festival once again confirmed that the combination of school theatre and professional stage technology (Haus der Jugend Barmen with Live Club Barmen) is a formative experience for the participating students. The city of Wuppertal and the participating schools immediately confirmed the continuation for 2026, from June 15 to 19.
