Young Euro Classic 2025 β Summer of Young Ensembles
With its 26th edition, Young Euro Classic 2025 continued the tradition of three weeks featuring youth orchestras from all over the world. In the Great Hall of the Konzerthaus Berlin on Gendarmenmarkt in the Mitte district, 14 youth orchestras from Europe, America, and Asia performed every evening β each following the typical dramaturgy of a classical main work, a representative piece from their home country, and a world or German premiere. The European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) and the Bundesjugendorchester were once again guests, forming the German-European backbone of the festival together with the Berlin universities Hanns Eisler and Barenboim-Said Akademie. Two jazz ensembles and a choir expanded the program. The FUTURE NOW Musical Diaries series brought ensembles from the Global South into an experimental program series beyond the classical concert format. The organizer, European Festival Association for Youth Orchestras, once again sent a signal for international understanding through music with Young Euro Classic 2025 β in a year when political tensions between cultures suggested the opposite.
