Overview

The 19th edition of the XPOSED Queer Film Festival took place in 2025 at various venues in Berlin. As in previous years, it featured a curated program of queer films from around the world – feature films, documentaries, short film blocks, performance cinema, and an awards ceremony on the final day. The 2025 edition continued the established format – a curated selection of feature and short films, a feature film program with a clear focus on international contributions beyond the US mainstream, parallel short film blocks, and the concluding Lolly Awards ceremony.

With its 19th edition, the festival prepared for its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over the years, XPOSED has become an institution in Berlin's queer cultural landscape, maintaining its independent spirit – not a large public festival like the Berlinale's Panorama section, but a curated, small, and intense program for an engaged audience. The 2026 edition will mark the provisional peak of this approach.
