Wortsport 26 – Festival for Young Spoken Word Art

Wortsport 26 is the new festival format of GRIPS Theater Berlin in 2026 – a completely new festival that will celebrate its premiere in February 2026. No independent edition ran in 2025; the format was prepared behind the scenes, with curatorial work, workshop planning, and the selection of the 15 invited artists.

GRIPS Theater aims to establish Wortsport as a recurring Berlin festival for young spoken word art. The first edition in 2026 will set the benchmark for whether the format resonates and can be expanded in the following years. Those looking for the festival in 2025 will search in vain – the premiere is in February 2026.
