World Championships of International Young Breeders at the Lower Saxony State Stud — July 16 to 19, 2026
The Lower Saxony State Stud Celle was founded in 1735 by King George II and is considered the cradle of the Hannoveraner horse. The stud farm in the historic old town of Celle is one of Europe's most traditional state studs and continues to breed top stallions that play a central role in international horse breeding. The headquarters at Spörckenstraße 10 is an impressive baroque ensemble with stables, riding halls, and the main building.
The World Championships of International Young Breeders are one of the most prestigious events in the international young talent sector of horse breeding. Young breeders from all over the world — the generation that carries on the horse breeding heritage — measure their knowledge, skills, and breeding assessment abilities. The 2026 event will take place from July 16 to 19, 2026, once again positioning Celle as a European center of horse breeding culture.
The program includes assessment competitions, demonstrations of selected horses, lectures and workshops, and an international supporting program. Young breeders from several dozen nations meet, learn from each other, and exchange ideas about current developments in equestrian breeding sports. The historic setting of the State Stud makes the event a special experience — for both participants and equestrian sports fans from the region.
Celle is a well-known name in international equestrian sports. In addition to the State Stud, numerous important events take place in the city — from the Stallion Parade in autumn to riding tournaments and breeding shows. The 2026 World Championship of International Young Breeders is another highlight in the equestrian year and brings international flair to the residential city on the Aller.
The detailed program for the World Championship will be published by the State Stud in advance. The structure follows the proven key points of international young breeder competitions:
