Overview

The Wittichenau Pentecost Marksmen's Festival 2025 took place as is traditional at Pentecost, once again confirming its role as the most important date in the club year for the St. Sebastian Marksmen's Brotherhood. Three days of festive procession, shooting competitions, and dance evenings in the Sorbian-influenced town in the Bautzen district marked the Pentecost weekend.

The 2025 edition adhered to the proven concept: festival opening on Whit Saturday, grand festive procession on Whit Sunday, proclamation of the Marksmen's King on Whit Monday. The St. Sebastian Marksmen's Brotherhood Wittichenau 1491 e.V. organized the festival in close cooperation with the town, parish, and local clubs.

Sorbian traditions — songs, costumes, dance forms — were also a central part of the festival in 2025. Visitors to the Pentecost Marksmen's Festival experience one of the most vibrant forms of Sorbian-German customs in Saxony.
