Overview

2025 was a year of preparation for the Windsbacher Knabenchor leading up to its 80th anniversary. With the founding of the Windsbacher Mädchenchor in September 2025 under the direction of Claudia Jennings, a new era began. In the summer, the Cantores Minores from Helsinki performed Brahms' 'Ein deutsches Requiem' with the Windsbachers on July 31 in Ansbach.

The year 2025 marked a pivotal moment for the Windsbacher Knabenchor. In September 2025, the newly founded Windsbacher Mädchenchor, under the direction of Claudia Jennings, began its rehearsals – a historic expansion of the previously all-boys choir. Invitations were extended to the five international guest choirs for the 2026 Boys' Choir Festival, and the program for the anniversary weekend was conceptualized.

Highlights of the 2025 concert year included the collaboration with the Finnish boys' choir Cantores Minores from Helsinki, with whom Brahms' 'Ein deutsches Requiem' was performed on July 31, 2025, in Ansbach's St. Johannis Church, as well as the Advent concert program in preparation for the 2026 Paul Gerhardt Year.
