Overview

The 13th Windros Festival took place from September 12 to 14, 2025, under the motto »Strings get Wings«. The focus was on string instruments – from guitar, mandolin, cello, and violin to banjo, hurdy-gurdy, and the Waldzither. Artists from Belgium, New Zealand, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Poland, France, the USA, and Germany shaped the program at the Schwerin-Mueß Open-Air Museum.

Under the motto »Strings get Wings«, the 13th Windros Festival in 2025 focused on string instruments: guitar, mandolin, cello, violin, banjo, hurdy-gurdy, and the Waldzither characterized the program. The artists came from Belgium, New Zealand, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Poland, France, the USA, and Germany.

Over three festival days, more than thirty concerts and dance events took place – on three small stages, a main stage with a dance floor, and in the dance tent. Those who played an instrument could participate in an ensemble workshop with accordionist Jan Budweis. The highlight was again the international Windros Orchestra, which gave its premiere performance on Saturday evening after several days of rehearsal. The traditional matinee on Sunday morning concluded the festival with lively exchange between artists and audience.
