Overview

In 2025, the Viking Festival 'The Battle for Svantevit' also took place at Jaromarsburg near Cape Arkona. Over three days in July, visitors experienced historical reenactment battles, a market with craftsmen and traders, camp life in Viking tents, as well as live music and fire shows in the extraordinary setting at the northern tip of Rügen.

The 2025 edition followed the established format: three days of Viking camp life at the historic ramparts, featuring single combats, field battles, and a bridge battle. Reenactment groups showcased the martial arts and daily life of the Viking Age.

Around the fortress grounds, a historical market offered crafts and food stalls, while evenings were filled with atmosphere by fire shows and medieval bands. The festival once again confirmed its reputation as one of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's most atmospheric medieval events.
