Overview

The 4th Wiesent-Challenge in 2025 definitively confirmed the race as a regional classic. With a road race, relay, and kids' run, the format entered its fourth season, embedded in the club life of SV Bavaria Waischenfeld in the Franconian Switzerland.

Even in 2025, registration numbers showed that the Wiesent-Challenge had arrived on the Upper Franconian running scene. The disciplines remained the same: 10 km road race, 2x5 km relay, Kids' Run, and inclusive opening run. Trail options were further expanded in the fourth season before being upgraded to official Upper Franconian Trail Championships in 2026.

As in previous years, twelve active clubs accompanied the race along the course and at several mood stations; the awards ceremony took place in the late afternoon, followed by a party in the clubhouse. Maisel's Weisse from Bayreuth was also the main sponsor in 2025.
