Overview

The 2025 Whitsun Schützenfest of the St. Hubertus Schützenbruderschaft Avenwedde-Friedrichsdorf followed the classic four-day programme: March concert, procession, Miss election, festival parade, coronation, Schützenmesse and bird shooting on Whit Monday. The brotherhood proclaimed its new King Couple and celebrated the coronation in a festive setting in the festival tent.

In 2025, the Whitsun Schützenfest also took place in established tradition. Thousands of marksmen from Avenwedde, Friedrichsdorf and friendly brotherhoods from the Diocese of Paderborn participated. Festival tent atmosphere, march concerts and the traditional Whit Monday with Schützenmesse and bird shooting marked the days.

The Whitsun weekend is THE Schützen weekend in Catholic Westphalia – and especially in the Diocese of Paderborn. Avenwedde-Friedrichsdorf is one of the liveliest locations in the Gütersloh district.
