Overview
The 41st edition of the WESTWIND Festival took place in 2025 at a different NRW venue – the meeting rotates annually. Again, ten NRW productions were selected from around 50 applications and combined with international guest performances and a workshop programme. Three juries awarded their prizes of €3,333 each.
In 2025, WESTWIND once again set accents in terms of inclusion, diversity, and support for young theatre makers. In addition to the festival week, the Next Generation Forum and workshop formats were offered through the tjp-nrw (Theater für junges Publikum NRW) working group. The selection reflected the spectrum between city and independent theatres in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
