Overview

The second edition of Westernstadt Merkendorf took place from July 13 to 14, 2024. Eight bands on two stages, Western market stalls, line dancing, gold panning, and catering by local clubs transformed the medieval old town of Merkendorf into a Western town with Franconian charm for two days.

The Westernstadt Merkendorf 2024 was the second edition of the concept and confirmed its success: a total of eight bands performed on two stages, including Rock n Rodeo, Country Friends, Tom Rascal & The Lakeland Cowboys, Andy Nickel, Bootcat, and Lonesome Andy & His One Man Band. The historic old town and the town walls of the "Krautstadt" formed the backdrop for a festival weekend with country music, line dancing, Western market stalls, and a family-friendly supporting program. Admission was free – catering was handled by local clubs and restaurateurs.
