12. Wertheimer Burgfilmfest

At the 11th Wertheimer BurgFilmFest 2025, cinephiles, families, and summer cinema fans gathered every evening in the moat below Wertheim Castle. The program ranged from current summer hits and family classics to ambitious arthouse films – with the medieval castle backdrop, every film gained a special touch. A blanket, cushions, and a glass of Franconian wine were part of the ritual, as was the assigned seat and admission from 8 PM. With the BurgFilmFest, Wertheim proves year after year that smaller cultural towns can offer unique experiences that cannot be replicated in any big-city cinema.
