Overview

In 2025, the Children's Day street festival also took place in September at Haus Babylon in Marzahn-Hellersdorf. Babel e.V. organized four hours of hands-on activities centered around children's rights, with participation from initiatives across the district. Free admission, families from the neighborhood came with children's groups from Kitas and primary schools.

The 2025 street festival maintained the established four-hour format. The hands-on stations were run by Berliner Sportjugend, Awo, Babel e.V., migration services, and local Kita providers. As always, the themes were children's rights — the right to non-violent upbringing, the right to participation, protection from discrimination — conveyed through games, theater, and creative workshops.

The festival is one of Berlin's quieter, but clearly defined children's day events in terms of content. Unlike the large commercial children's festivals at FEZ or the Olympic Park, the Marzahn format focuses on civil society networking and political education — low-threshold, but consistent.
