The Wörrstadt Municipal Association

The Wörrstadt Municipal Association comprises a number of Rhenish-Hessian wine-growing villages in the Selz Valley: Wörrstadt itself, Armsheim, Ensheim, Gabsheim, Partenheim, Rommersheim, Saulheim, Schornsheim, Spiesheim, Sulzheim, Udenheim, Vendersheim, and Wallertheim. These communities are among the quality-oriented wine-growing locations in Rheinhessen. With the annual VG Wine Festival, the entire region presents itself as a unified wine association.

Whitsun in Gabsheim

The Wine Festival takes place in a different member municipality each year – an elegant solution that gives each location the opportunity to be the host once in the rotation. In 2026, Gabsheim is next. The Whitsun weekend with its four days (Thursday evening, Whit Sunday, and Whit Monday as a public holiday) is an ideal festival date: the weather conditions are usually pleasant, the days are long, and many guests have time to attend the festival for several days due to the holidays.

Wines from the entire Selz Valley

The special feature of the VG Wine Festival is the thematic breadth of the wines presented. Instead of just local vintners, vintners from the entire Selz Valley are represented. Riesling, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Grauburgunder, Weißburgunder, Spätburgunder, Rosé, and Sekt from several villages can be compared directly side-by-side at various stands. For wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts, this is an almost unique opportunity to get to know the styles of different wineries and locations.

Four Festival Days with a Rich Program

The extended Whitsun weekend offers space for a rich program: Opening on Thursday evening with the tapping of the first keg, lively festival days on Friday and Saturday with live music and concerts, a festival service on Whit Sunday, and a family day on Whit Monday. Catering is provided by the clubs of the Gabsheim community, with classic Rhenish-Hessian dishes: Bratwürste (sausages), Saumagen (stuffed pig's stomach), Spundekäs (cheese dip), Handkäs (cheese with onions), Zwiebelkuchen (onion tart), crêpes, and desserts.
