For three days, Heldrungen onion farmers, market stalls, and stages transformed Weimar's city center into an onion paradise. As every year, the city run on Saturday, the crowning of the Onion Market Queen on Sunday, and Sunday shopping to conclude the festival.
Weimar 2025 — The 372nd Edition
From October 10th to 12th, 2025, the Weimar Onion Market ran for the 372nd time. Heldrungen onion farmers offered their artfully braided strings on the market square, stages with folk music, brass bands, and pop cover bands accompanied the market activities. The city run, children's onion market, and the crowning of the new Onion Market Queen were, as every year, part of the regular program. Approximately 250,000 visitors flocked to the city of poets.
