Overview

From November 20th to December 27th, 2025, the stalls on Spitalerstraße once again lined Hamburg's busiest pedestrian zone. The 20-meter tree with 14,000 wax candles, crafts by Hamburg designers, and continuously lively gastronomy characterized the Advent season between the main train station and the town hall.

2025 Review

The 2025 edition opened on November 20th and closed on December 27th. The market was closed on Totensonntag (Nov 23rd), but then ran uninterrupted throughout the Advent season and beyond. The Hanseatic brick stalls, the curated stands by Hamburg designers, and the gastronomy open every Saturday until 11 PM once again made the market the most visited Advent spot in Hamburg's city center.

In the Hamburg-Mitte district, Spitalerstraße is one of the three central Advent locations in the Hanseatic city, along with Rathausmarkt and Fleetinsel.
