In 2025, the city of Erkrath again invited visitors to the Christmas market around the historic Lokschuppen Hochdahl on the first two Advent weekends. Crafts inside, mulled wine stands outside, plus small live performances by regional music groups — a mix that makes the market a regular fixture in Erkrath's event calendar.
The 2025 edition confirmed the proven concept: arts and crafts and Advent atmosphere in the unique setting of the Lokschuppen. The covered interior of the roundhouse made the market less dependent on the weather and ensured consistently good visitor numbers on both Advent weekends.
With the Lokschuppen as an industrial monument, Erkrath has an event location that clearly distinguishes itself from classic market square Christmas markets — a USP that has made the market known beyond the region.
