Weberwiese Kiezfest — Edition 2025

The third edition took place on June 14, 2025, as always around the Weberwiese in Friedrichshain. The organisation by the "Milieu sind wir!" initiative reaffirmed its demand for socially compatible housing and against speculation; the festival itself ran in the now-established format: live music from folk, indie rock, and a children's choir, cake buffet, barbecue, face painting, and stalls by tenant and housing policy initiatives.

Already in 2025, the anti-gentrification character of the festival became more important than the mere folk festival element – with speeches, discussion rounds, and networking. Preparations for the 70th anniversary of the Weberwiese housing estate also began with this edition.
