Overview
The 489th Wasunger Karneval in 2025 continued the centuries-old tradition with a torchlight procession, kindergarten and school parade, the Grand Historical Festival Parade on Karneval Saturday, and the key handover at Maienluft Castle. As every year, thousands of spectators gathered along the parade route through Wasungen's town centre — the Karneval in Wasungen goes on in any weather, as the revellers' motto states.
489th Wasunger Karneval 2025
The 489th edition of the Wasunger Karneval followed the established sequence: lighting the Karneval, torchlight procession, indoor events, kindergarten and school parade, Grand Historical Festival Parade on Karneval Saturday, Mayor's committee with key handover, and on Shrove Tuesday, the key handover at Maienluft Castle. More than 90 floats once again delighted thousands of spectators. The regional press reported that the Karneval in Wasungen takes place in any weather — tradition comes first.
