Overview

In 2025, Henrichshütte was again a central venue for ExtraSchicht. With light installations, special guided tours, and musical performances, the LWL site attracted thousands of visitors to the former ironworks — one of the most spectacular industrial monuments in the southern Ruhr area.

ExtraSchicht 2025 once again confirmed the importance of Henrichshütte as a central venue for the Night of Industrial Culture. Blast Furnace 3 and the historic halls are transformed for one night into an accessible industrial art landscape — light, sound, and staging make industrial history tangibly experienced.

The LWL-Industrial Museum Henrichshütte is open year-round and is part of the Route of Industrial Heritage. Special events such as ExtraSchicht or thematic special evenings like WasserFest expand the museum's offerings with performative dimensions.
