Association festival with Sunday shopping in the town center of Wardenburg
Wardenburg is a community with a vibrant association life: sports, music, traditions, social services, and culture are largely supported by volunteers. The Day of Associations offers these actors a central stage once a year to present themselves to the public, recruit new members, and highlight the importance of volunteerism.
For three days, the town center transforms into a festival mile. Association stands, stages for musical performances, demonstrations, and workshops create a diverse program. The associations provide catering, often organized as a fundraiser to benefit their respective club treasuries.
The highlight is the Sunday shopping day, when Wardenburg's shops open their doors. This format combines association life, local retail, and cultural contributions into a harmonious overall experience. For many shops, the Day of Associations is one of the busiest Sunday shopping days of the year.
The organizer of the Day of Associations is the WFV Economic Development Association Wardenburg e.V., which coordinates communication between associations, business owners, and the municipal administration. The event is part of a broad annual program that also includes the Wardenburg Autumn Market, the Christmas Market, and the Wardenburg Countryside Tour.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years: Friday evening convivial opening with stage program, Saturday all-day association presentations and hands-on activities, Sunday Sunday shopping combined with the association program.
Associations from the fields of sports, music, social services, culture, and traditions use the occasion to present themselves and attract new members.
Detailed program and list of organizers will be published in good time at wfv-wardenburg.de.
