Overview

The Walberlafest 2025 was traditionally celebrated on the first May weekend on the plateau of the Ehrenbürg. With the Maypole raising, beer tapping, Franconian beer from regional breweries, and the mountain service at the Walburgis Chapel, the festival once again confirmed its reputation as one of the most popular folk festivals in Franconian Switzerland.

In 2025, the Walberlafest once again attracted thousands of visitors to the Ehrenbürg plateau above Kirchehrenbach on the first May weekend. The event began with the raising of the Maypole by local clubs and the beer tapping, followed by festival celebrations with Franconian beer from several regional breweries, hearty specialities, and stalls.

On the festival Sunday, the service at the Walburgis Chapel on the summit took place as usual. The festival reaffirmed its role as a social and cultural highlight of spring in the Forchheim region of Upper Franconia.
