Edition 2025 — VVO Oberelbe Marathon

The 26th edition of the VVO Oberelbe Marathon brought around 9,000 runners from all over the world to Saxon Switzerland and Dresden again in 2025. The course from Königstein along the Elbe to Dresden, finishing at the Heinz-Steyer-Stadion, confirmed the marathon as one of Germany's most attractive scenic runs. Six distances, from the Marathon to the 1/100 Marathon for children, allowed participation for all age groups.

VVO Oberelbe Marathon — The Tradition

For 27 years, the Oberelbe Marathon has connected Saxon Switzerland with the city center of Dresden on a flat, scenic Elbe route. In 2025, the event once again attracted thousands of runners, families, and spectators. The accompaniment by a historic paddle steamer has been a unique feature of the marathon for years.

For 2026, the 27th edition will start on April 26.
