Edition 2025 — Volksfest Sonthofen

The Volksfest Sonthofen 2025 was canceled: Due to renovation work at the Marktanger and the resulting limited festival grounds, the 2025 folk festival could not take place. The City of Sonthofen announced its return in 2026 in an adjusted format instead. 2025 was thus the first year in recent history without the Sonthofen folk festival.

Volksfest Sonthofen 2025 – Canceled

The City of Sonthofen canceled the 2025 folk festival because the Marktanger was being renovated in the summer of 2025, significantly reducing the usable space for festival operators and showmen. The return is planned for 2026, with the city openly communicating that the new edition may be smaller than previous years due to permanent changes at the Marktanger.
