Pop-up wine bar with ten festival wines at the historic Fort Asterstein
Vinothek on Tour – Koblenz-Asterstein is one of the most charming formats of the Koblenz Wine Festival. Instead of a classic wine festival area in the city center, the event takes place at Fort Asterstein – a former Prussian fortress that is now preserved and used for cultural events by the Friends Association.
Fort Asterstein is located on the Asterstein plateau in the Asterstein district on the right bank of the Rhine. It is part of the former Koblenz Fortress, one of the largest Prussian fortress complexes in Europe. The fort was built in the 19th century and today serves as a cultural space used for concerts, readings, and wine tastings, among other things.
At Vinothek on Tour, ten selected festival wines are served – a curated cross-section of the Mosel, Mittelrhein, Ahr, and Rheinhessen wine regions. Local musicians accompany the evening with live music. The picnic atmosphere and the view of the Middle Rhine Valley at dusk make the event a special experience. Instead of plastic cups, the wines are served in special glass goblets made for the wine festival (5 Euro deposit).
