Overview

The Villinger Lichternacht 2025 transformed the city center of the twin city Villingen-Schwenningen into a landscape of light in early November 2025. Candles in shop windows, illuminated city gates, and live music at Osianderplatz and Latschari, as well as the subsequent Sunday shopping, attracted several thousand visitors to the center.

The 2025 edition continued the proven concept of the Gewerbeverband Oberzentrum: candles, light installations, and live music in the historic Villingen city center. The three medieval city gates — Riettor, Oberes Tor, and Bickentor — were illuminated with particular splendor.

Despite the autumnal, damp weather, visitors from all over the Schwarzwald-Baar district and southern Black Forest came to the city center. The combination of an emotional light experience and subsequent Sunday shopping has established itself as a successful format.
