Overview

The Villinger Fasnet 2025 took place on March 3 and 4 — the classic double date of Rose Monday and Fasnet Tuesday. The Historical Parade of the Narrozunft started on Monday morning, followed by the Maschgerelauf in the afternoon. On Tuesday, March 4, the Grand Fasnet Parade of the Zuggesellschaft, with approximately 8,000 costumed participants and around 38,000 spectators, marched through Villingen's old town — one of the largest Swabian-Alemannic carnival spectacles of the year.

The Villinger Fasnet 2025 took place in mild February/March weather and saw one of the most well-attended years since its UNESCO recognition in 2014. The Historical Parade of the Narrozunft on Monday morning began punctually at 8:45 AM and proceeded through the four historic alleys — Narro, Surheber, Stachi, and Wuescht in full Häs splendor, along with the historical Altvillinger figures.

On Fasnet Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the Grand Fasnet Parade of the Zuggesellschaft was the highlight of the festival week. 8,000 costumed participants from numerous Swabian-Alemannic associations — Rottweil, Schramberg, Donaueschingen, Furtwangen, Tuttlingen, Pforzheim, and of course Villingen itself — marched through Niedere and Obere Straße. The Marktplatz was packed, the inns filled up in the late afternoon, and the festivities lasted until midnight.
