Overview
In September 2025, the Viehscheid Schöllang once again saw around 700 young cattle return from the Alps to the valley. Led by the wreath cow, accompanied by brass music and Allgäu delicacies, Schöllang celebrated the end of the summer on the Alps at the Viehscheidplatz.
The Viehscheid Schöllang 2025 took place in September, as every year, marking the end of the summer on the Alps in Oberallgäu. The herds from Entschenalpe, Gutenalpe, Käseralpe, and Seealpe returned to the valley, led by the flower-adorned wreath cow. The festival tent, traditional brass music, and Allgäu specialties characterized the festive day at the Viehscheidplatz on the southern outskirts of Schöllang – a firm fixture in the Allgäu Viehscheid events in the Oberallgäu district.
