Overview

The 51st Viehscheid Oberstaufen 2025 once again gathered thousands of spectators at the Höfen Scheidplatz in September. Decorated wreathed cows, shepherds, and alpine farmers created an impressive picture of Allgäu tradition, followed by the traditional bell raffle in the early afternoon and a lively festival tent evening.

The 51st edition of the Viehscheid Oberstaufen 2025 continued the tradition of the great Allgäu alpine drive. Several hundred animals were led from the mountain pastures into the valley to Oberstaufen, and the Höfen Scheidplatz once again transformed into a stage for Allgäu customs with wreathed cows, shepherds, and a dense crowd of spectators.

The supporting program – the bell raffle in the afternoon, and dancing and music in the festival tent in the evening – was also very well received and underscored the importance of the Viehscheid as one of Bavaria's most significant alpine drives.
